Quality little unit
Magnet is strong. Doesn't seem like it will come off even at highway speeds. Quality cable. Seems like a solid little unit! It doesn't seem drastically better than the stock antenna on my HT, but definitely better than using the HT with the stock antenna inside my car, which is what I wanted. For better gain you'll need a taller antenna, which I wanted to avoid as I ride a vehicle ferry regularly and it needed to be short enough to not hit the ceiling or be charged for an overheight vehicle. Where I live, signals are mostly limited by terrain, not signal strength, so a super high gain antenma wasn't a priority.
