Along with all the bells and whistles, this radio won't disappoint any AUDIOPHILE OMs. I used to use FT-1000MP with s dynamic studio mic, external EQ and a line evel attenuator. It was good, but very prone to RFI, especially when I use linear amp. This FTDX-3000D is cable of taking balanced mic input. I made a balanced XLR to balanced 8 pin round connector cable, and connected my Sennheiser studio mic directly to my radio. Along with the internal EQ settings, I got lots of compliments on my TX sound, without worrying about RFI. With the YAESU PCC-3000 software, I could fully control my FTDX-3000D without touching from start to finish. Changing menus and EQ settings is a piece of cake with this free software. The waterfall spectrum scope makes my radio looks nice but not very practical for my rusty eyes. I put 10 inch LCD monitor right next to my radio, and made my radio sync with HDSDR through a USB cable. Now I have no reason to save money for a better radio. Well.. I mean for now. LOL. 73

Satisfied with Transceiver & customer service. The only thing that I'm disappointed with is how the price has gone down & how used units are being sold for a fraction of the new price.

I have had many radios over my 60 year ham radio career, but this is the best so far.
It's receiver is super sensitive and the audio is fantastic.
